2023 Spring Impact Series | Purpose-Driven Board Leadership

Sponsored By Young Leaders Council is hosting a discussion on Purpose-Driven Board Leadership, facilitated through BoardSource. Andy Davis is the Associate VP of Member Education & Outreach and will serve as our facilitator for the event.

This event is part of the YLC Impact Series, which provides continuing education opportunities for alumni and community partners.

Purpose-Driven Board Leadership is a concept introduced in a 2021 Stanford Social Innovation Review article by Anne Wallestad, President and CEO of BoardSource. Purpose-Driven Board Leadership offers a new way of framing the nonprofit board’s role informed by BoardSource’s years of research and work with nonprofit boards and executives as well as a wide range of leaders and thinkers in the field of social sector leadership. The concept on four key principles that we believe should drive nonprofit board leadership and thinking, including: purpose before organization; respect for ecosystem, equity mindset, and authorized voice and power.

YLC has partnered with BoardSource to share this unique perspective with our audience through the Impact Series.

This event is open to all YLC alumni, community partners, and anyone interested in advancing their knowledge of nonprofit board leadership in order to better serve the Middle Tennessee community.
