Project C.U.R.E. identifies, solicits, collects, sorts, and distributes medical supplies and services according to the imperative needs of the world. However, Spring of 2020 has been a time of national crisis. In response, we have made our resources available to hospitals, first responders, clinics, nursing homes, and doctors’ offices here at home in Tennessee. While our mission is to strengthen health systems in under-resourced countries, our first priority is to our own country. Since this pivot to a domestic focus in early March, our focus has been on our firefighters, nurses, doctors, and public servants here at home who need our help. As the pandemic continues, we continue to join in solidarity with these health heroes who serve us. Be assured, when our state and local government agencies call and request our resources, we are here to protect the lives of our first responders and medical professionals.
Now more than ever we are committed to meeting the medical needs of people who need help – both here in the United States, and abroad. We will provide resources where they will save lives, ease suffering, and change the world. We have kept our Nashville warehouse functioning, collecting medical equipment and supplies, sorting and preparing items for donation such as all masks, gloves, PPE, and other items needed to fight COVID-19. Indeed, one hundred percent of the items that individuals and companies donate to the local fight against COVID-19 are given to the brave men and women on the front lines of this fight. In fact, locally those efforts represent upwards of 50 deliveries to approximately 37 organizations throughout our area. Nationally (including Nashville), Project C.U.R.E. has donated 271 domestic shipments containing a total of over 6,400 boxes of PPE valued at more than $3 million to front-line health providers across the U.S. We look forward to the day when this struggle is a memory, but until then we will continue to change our world here at home.
