Incorporated in 1973, Humanities Tennessee’s programs and grants respond to a need for dialogue, civility, an understanding of history, and a love of lifelong learning among Tennesseans. It reaches an estimated 500,000 Tennesseans per year through its annual Southern Festival of Books, Young Writers’ Workshops, Student Reader Days, the Letters About Literature contest and more. The nonprofit is looking for board members with general skills, including a CPA. If interested, contact executive director Tim Henderson at or (615) 770-0006.
