Engaging Individuals and Communities to Improve Our Environment and Public Health
Our hallmark programs include:
1) Tennessee Tree Project – engages communities in planting and caring for 1 million native trees across Tennessee.
2) Watershed Support Center- brings students, community volunteers & watershed professionals together in stream and watershed restoration projects to improve the water quality of Tennessee’s most polluted watersheds.
3) Sustainable Tennessee – engages thousands of stakeholders statewide in the creation, annual updating & implementation of the Sustainable Tennessee Agenda.
We have three projects that fall under the Sustainable Tennessee Program – Come-Post Your Compost, Recycle Tennessee and Generate Some Buzz pollinator program.
For 50 years, the Tennessee Environmental Council has been focusing on growing awareness of the importance of sustainability and conservation to human health, the economy and quality of life for all Tennesseans.
